Prescribing policy

How we prescribe

A short, plain policy, so you know what to expect before you come.

  • An evaluation comes first

Mend prescribes nothing before an evaluation. If you write asking for a particular medicine, we will tell you the same.

  • Every choice is explained

Ghada explains what a medicine is for, its common side effects and risks, and the other options, including not taking one. You decide.

  • Controlled medications

Mend does not prescribe controlled medications, such as stimulants and benzodiazepines, and this policy is the same in person and by video.

  • Changing or stopping

Some medicines should not be stopped suddenly. Call us before you change a dose, and we will tell you how to do it.

  • Pregnancy and planning

Tell us if you are pregnant or may become pregnant. The choices change, and we will talk them through with you.

  • Pharmacy and labs

Your pharmacy fills the prescription and bills you or your plan. If labs are needed, the lab bills you. Mend explains why before asking for any.

Questions about this policy?
